Farm to School Basket
Texas Tribal Buffalo Project (TTBP), is dedicated to revitalizing the cultural heritage and ecological significance of the buffalo within indigenous communities. Our Farm to School Program is a cornerstone initiative aimed at promoting food sovereignty and supporting the health and well-being of students.
The Farm to School Program aims to incorporate traditional indigenous foods, particularly bison meat, into school meal programs across Texas. By partnering with local schools, we provide nutritious and culturally significant food options to students, including those from indigenous backgrounds. Our program not only enhances the nutritional value of school meals but also educates students about the importance of indigenous food ways and environmental sustainability.
TTBP offers a reliable and sustainable source of bison meat, adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety. Our bison meat is rich in protein, lean, and free from artificial additives or hormones, making it an ideal choice for school meal programs. We work closely with Food and Nutrition Directors to ensure seamless integration of bison meat into school menus, providing support and resources as needed.
By participating in our Farm to School Program, Food and Nutrition Directors have the opportunity to not only enhance the nutritional quality of school meals but also support indigenous communities and promote cultural diversity in their school districts.
